Whats your Drivers degree of loft...............?

Murph I would not have said you hit the ball high at all,a good ball flight that didn't balloon nor went away flat so I wouldn't say you need to change and certainly not to a 7degree!
The thing that we amatuers need to get right more than anything is the correct shaft in your driver.

The shaft, launch angle, smash etc were all confirmed on a lanuch monitor as being optimised for me (depressing, as it means that is as good as it will ever get), but I was stunned at how low and long these guys today were hitting it.

Obviously no good over a pond though.

Lots of great advice here.
Everyones swing is different so we need different sticks.
Jimmy hits it too high so needs a lesson or less loft.
Harry hits it too low so needs a lesson or more loft.
Whatever loft and launch angle gives you the best tradjectory with not too much spin is the best for you.
For me it's an Ping 8.5 G2 and a Ping 12deg Tist tec 3 wood
On average I would say is 10-11 deg for the driver, 15 deg for 3 wood and 17-18 for 5 wood

I have a 10.5 draw bias which I use unless the course is particularly wet and then I have a neutral 11 degree Cally 460 big bertha which flies much higher than my Cleveland. Both are regular flex.

I agree Dodger, and here is why.

When I went for my fitting, the first thing the pro did was look at how I hit my current driver. He said the ball is not carryingbecause the shaft is not spinning the ball enough. Nothing to do with degrees of loft at this point (for the record it was 12)

He decided to give me a couple of different shafts that he thought would suit me, saying 'forget about the head'

Immediatly the ball carried further but not as far as it eventually would. When I found the shaft that would optimize my carry distance we began choosing heads. There wasn't really much difference between 10, 10.5 and 11 but 10.5 was always a that bit closer to the correct launch angle. It was all in the shaft

As per my sig i have a 13 degree Callaway FT-i (Regular shaft). I tried lower lofted drivers but struggled to hit them well at all.
As soon as i picked up the 13 degree though it instantly felt right. It is very noticably lighter than a lot of other drivers even of the the same model but with lower lofts. I hit the ball consistantly straight and i am happy with the 200 - 230 yards (even further on a good day) i get from it. When looking to buy a driver, i went to a couple of shops with ranges attached and tried every single driver i could get my hands on at the time. Also borrowed some from other people to try out. This particular model is tumbling in price now that Callaway have brought out the new FTi-Q which i have yet to try, but all in all the higher loft definitely made my game more enjoyable.

After trying out a New 909 D2 yesterday A suggested fit being for 9.5 degree & an Alida Voodoo shaft, was recommended. Fitting pro even game me a few pointers on someting I was doing wrong. Something I did know about, but being reminded of this did help & he even gave me a little thing to do to help correct something as the season get underway properly. So the Titleist 907 D1 will be going back in the bag until I have a clear out. Must say I really like the classic shape of the new 909
