What's your course like at the moment?

very good for this time of the year. greens in perfect condition though the 3 reseeded greens are on the slow side. friday saw the first rain for over a month and turned dull greyish wintergrass into bright green lawn

The greens have started to come good but the rough is either bare lies or a bog depending on which spot you are in.

Recovering well, had a lot of work go off and still going on. Only had one temp in play at a time, with that only being 2 in total. Still have 2 areas surrounding greens that have been reshaped and turfed that are out of play with drop zones in place. Which is slightly annoying when you miss the green by a yard and have to go to the drop zone in front of the green to play your 2nd. But greens have recovered really well and are playing as fast as I remember them, probably only going to get faster as time goes on. So really happy all in all, can't complain.

It's really improved in the last couple of weeks and the greens are really flattening out and getting pretty quick, first medal last weekend and the css was 73 (par 70), can't remember it being that high in a long time, still I managed a o.6 cut which was welcome.

The greens are good but the course remains wet to very wet. The west of Scotland just seems to have had continuous rain and the course just hasn't had time to recover. The course though is still playable although we remain on preferred lies.

Utterly soaking, place was borderline playable on Sunday but the rain has hardly let up since. Shrek's swamp is probably drier than our place right now.

And we're losing our pro to Wishaw... not a great week.

New to the forum, good to be here. My home course's are looking really good. They are pretty quick draining and the green keepers have done such a good job.

Better than my Uncles home course, Dewsbury District, as the council have stopped drianing the old mine shafts the course is built on and black water had started leaching up through the ground on few holes. Hope its improved as he's a grumpy so and so withouth golf ;)

I was a member at Dewsbury many moons ago. Has to be a contender for hilliest course in the UK!

Where do you play in Huddersfield?

Aha, a fellow town fan/glutten for punishment!

Usually play at Willow Valley G & CC. 2 good 18 holers and a nice 9 holer too. Since i moved house im closer to Bradley Park which is a nice place to play.

My Uncle keeps telling me stories about Dewsbury from many moons ago. They used to get Hippies picking magic mushrooms next to one of the holes. Used to make good target practice!

After the very heavy rain here on Monday night, the course was close yesterday. Last night would have been great for a round of golf as well, lovely evening.

Ours is really struggling. Hasn't stopped raining up here and it's been closed past two days. Was back to some tees being off the mats on Monday after the conditions of some tees after weekend use. Our course management decided it was still a great idea to allow buggies to be used all of last week even with heavy rain.

Thought it must be Willow when you said 'courses' plural. Couldn't think of anywhere else round here with 2 tracks or more. Played the 9 holer the last two weeks with my nephew who's just starting out. Thought it was really soggy tbh!

Bradley is in line to be shut down for housing which is a shame. I love that massively downhill drivable par 4.

The nine holer sometimes is at this time of year. the other 2 are better kept (mostly)

Shame about Bradley, i use their range a lot and they have just had it done up. Hope the plans dont go through.

Dont mind the trek to Willow Valley which is a good thing now!. Nearest to me is Crossland Heath but its pricey if you are not a member.

I magine after the last two days dry weather, it will be as good as anywhere. Greens are lovely, and for the big amateur competition (Selbourne Salver)on Saturday it will be stunning. We peak earlier than most clubs in the area, but next week is course maintenance so will steer clear.;)

Greens were ok I suppose - bit easy to putt on

One bunker was a bit rubbish though

I wouldn't know, can't remember the last time I was invited to play there
