What's your course like at the moment?

Excuse me. You are supposed to be sorting out your better half (golf wise) for a game.

Of course if Louise is not available, your invite is off.

I'm seeing her this evening, I'll mention it to her

Played a different course today thats usually dry all year. Wish I hadn't, it made my usual course where I'm a member seem like augusta. Couldn't hit a shot without it ending up plugging.

Glorious day
Warm, windless, sunny..

And the course is closed.....😩😩😩😩

Trying again tomorrow..

Awful, awful, flaming awful. No one at the club can remember the course ever being this wet at this time of the year. The only decent part of it is the greens but even they are bobbly. There are certain parts that are unplayable and the course was even closed a couple of days ago.

In cracking nick right now and can only get better - greens running lovely

Shocking. As I've said numerous times on other threads, our place took some real hammer in the winter by accepting visitors with open arms when the reality is it should have been shut. The green complexes in particular are in dreadful condition with some shocking lies.

So bad, in fact, that I have found out this week that we are to have placing until the end of MAY at least. I'm now looking elsewhere.

I've just been told our course is closed until Monday. This is because of the wet conditions and damage already caused by playing throughout the bad conditions.

See the " Arrange a game" section

It's infuriating. We could all see the harm being done, with the owners allowing buggies out when there should have been a trolley ban. We'll be paying the price all year.

They are clueless. First sign of warm weather all the roped off areas are reopened even though no real recovery has set in. It's an absolute state, but they keep trotting out the "You get to play for 12 months on a full course" excuse.

Indeed. But at what cost?

This is the same at our place, 3 weeks ago we had a trolley ban, now their allowing summer wheels again even though the course is still as wet as it has been all winter. We either have long soggy grass or bare muddy lies that are awful to chip from around the greens.

Probably in the process of submerging again...
Was closed Wednesday, open yesterday but very soft with some standing water.
It's been raining a lot of the night, raining now and not duento stop anytime soon.
Not heavy but it doesn't need to be - water table is so high....
The only good news is that I'm possibly not playing until next Friday.....

The forecast today looks very wet and grim, tomorrow morning doesn't look too clever either, could be a spoiler for the par 3 shotgun start comp on Saturday, although it doesn't start until 1pm, it looks like we're going to be subjected to nearly 36hrs of rain before that rain.gif

Nervous about how wet it'll be again this weekend as some of it seems to be struggling again and the rain last night and today won't help. Shame as they cut the fairways this week and visually it's looking great.

Pretty good actually. all the bunkers are back in play, quite few have been re vetted for the Big comp we have the back end of the year. Can't remember is its the home internationals or the British boys champs.

greens coming one and should be Ok for next weekends first silver trophy.

Our course has been closed all week. Soaking wet. Rain forecast today so that will rule out tomorrow. Hopefully it will open for the comp on Sunday.
