Watched the bobby Robson classic on sky not so along ago and they were playing a 4 man team event and I don't know what's it called.

In the game each team recorded the two best stableford scores out of the group and that was there score for the hole. Did it for all 18 and team with most points wins i.e. score of 86 or something won it. Hope that makes sense.

It's called an AM-AM, very commonly used in charity golf days. You can end up with some really good points scores often in the mid-to-high 80's.

Mid high eighties?!! I played in one where the top 3 teams all had over 100 points!!! severe bandit country, i was lucky not to get my horse stolen!

Normally done on 3/4 handicaps.

Sometimes to add a little spice they make it such that on 2 holes (one o each 9, normally an easier hole) all 4 players scores count.

Also, the last one I played in they had a team ball. Each player must use it for 3 holes and that ball has a seperate stableford score, assuming you get it all the way round.
You just use that ball instead of your own on the holes your captain decides you should play it. Normally costs a few extra quid and the winning team is given the entry cash, and they then give it back to the charity as a norm.
