Whats the differance between GI and SGI irons?

Game improvement or Super Game improvement. Hmmm....tough.....

I've never quite understood; I mean Callaway Big Berthas are far more fat and ugly than X-series irons, and yet no more forgiving. G15s are SGI and yet a fairly conservative compared to some of the monster hybrid sets available.

JPX800s have finally got into the SGI category too, and they almost look like a regular cavity.

Generally the size of the sole on sgi is wider to enable centre if gravity to be moved lower and back to help get the ball in the air. Quote often large cavities to to give maximum forgiveness.

My understanding on this is a game improver is basically a cavity back with a moderate size sole and some ofset. Think along the lines of TM R7's

Super GI irons have more off set and very wide sole AKA Taylormade Superlaunch
