What's next..?

For me i would love to see the black faces go. They show premature wear on a club which is one of the reasons we end up changing, because they look old.

Truth be told I think my old amp (2012) model was definitely longer than my 913, I only changed it as the face looked tiered but the crown was unmarked.

I learnt a lot from selling that club and the cb's

I try a lot of drivers/demos out on the local range and I don't think I've ever hit anything as Long as the Old Amp with the Stock Shaft, it was beast of a club!

They have done an updated one with the new drivers but this article is the one I could find. Very insightful http://www.mygolfspy.com/the-most-popular-drivers-of-2015-secret-cg-locations/

Aha here it is http://www.mygolfspy.com/cobra-king-ltd-driver-2016/

I think you have been a little sucked in by the Cobra hype.... I have used both and the Cobra is no more forgiving than the M1...

They did something different, is it better? Not for me... I wanted it to be, I read the mygolfspy article prior to trying the Ltd and expected a lot... it was rather unexciting.

i would say more composite materials ie carbon fibre making up more of the head, leaving the face to be heavier for example. not sure how that will work as i am no physics expert.

to be honest - most of what I've seen appears to be tinkering with variations on a theme! There are some interesting developments on the shaft front and Trackman type devices have made it possible to achieve more suitable fittings for we amateur golfers.

But you know how fickle we are. Something new and shiny comes out, with advertising promising longer and straighter and we fall for it hook, line and sinker.................
