Drivers.
We've had changeable hosels, weights and slidy bits inside and out. We've had aero-dynamic fins and heads. Black heads, blue heads, red heads, white heads, every colour under the sun heads. Steel heads, Titanium heads, Composite heads and crowns. Springy faces, non-springy faces
And probably a whole lot more that I can't remember right now.

So what's next?
What can they do,with 460cc of Driver head, that will tempt us to part with our cash that hasn't been done?
Have they engineered the Driver head to the point that there's actually very little room for improvement?

Judging by what Cobra have done recently the rest have a lot of catching up to do...

Pretty much everything that can be done, was done, several years ago....

It's all been paint jobs and smoke/mirrors since then.

The regs is the regs.

How about a driver guaranteed to driver shorter?

The unique selling point would be the positive mental effect it would have on you, the owner - you know the ball isn't going far, so you don't feel inadequate and can just enjoy the round while your playing partners fret over their unexpected lack of distance which will, of course, ruin their game!

What's not to like?

If theyre that far ahead how come the only tour pros using them are sponsored by them? If they were that good there would be many more

Because Professional golfers hit the ball out of the sweet spot most of the time. As a result the drivers like the M1 are perfect for them as they don't need to worry about forgiveness it's all about distance.

Us mere mortals play a very different game and the advancements Cobra have made have been about offering a more equitable blend of distance and forgiveness for the club player.

Actually the fact that most tour pros DON'T use Cobra drivers is the clearest indication to me that I should look at their range. ;)

In my opinion the majority of club golfers need forgiveness...

Dimples. It started with golf balls, then moved to aerodynamic cycle wheels to make them faster, and it's going to move back into golf into the club head. It would make more sense than turbulators.

Surely the only way to find your best driver is to test them yourselves? Why would we believe what Cobra are producing in their marketing regarding distance and forgiveness claims?

The only believable review/test I could find was this one http://www.mygolfspy.com/cobra-king-ltd-vs-taylormade-m1/

... and to be honest the difference between two was negligible to say the least.

They have done an updated one with the new drivers but this article is the one I could find. Very insightful http://www.mygolfspy.com/the-most-popular-drivers-of-2015-secret-cg-locations/

Aha here it is http://www.mygolfspy.com/cobra-king-ltd-driver-2016/

I'd say yes to the above
I don't think they've improved much in the last 5/6 years to be honest
COR limits put paid to any huge gains

Just keep buying something like the look of, feel of, and put a decent shaft in
It will be new, shiny, but not really much different......
