Thank you so so much for this thread!!
Have just played 9 (not bad but doubled the last,BOO!!).
Brought bats home to clean as we have first qualifier tomorrow, and I only logged on to tell the GM World how much I love my kit!
The woods feel great and are matched beautifully.
My irons are truly a work of art and I get a glow when I look at them.
The wedges sit tight and you can open the 58 to hit it up your nostril.
The putter is doing its job,but I just showed it my Scotty and the c-groove I nicked from Goosen so it remembers there are rivals for my affection.

I drift between Prov1-x, TM red, Srixon UR-S.

I know it is pathetic to feel like this but I hope I am in a place of fellow sufferers.
The details of my kit are in the sig.

Lol! "I love the smell of GAC in the morning!"

Driver:

Hippo Hex2 10deg stiff shaft - confidence club, not the longest but is fairly accurate

or Taylor Made R7 Quad HT 9.5deg regular shaft - when I'm driving well this baby will send it miles

Hybrid:

Taylor Made Rescure Mid 16deg stiff shaft - great club which I can hit a nice length. Good off the tee or from the fairway

Irons:

3-10 + PW + SW Callaway Big Bertha, custom fit length/loft with regular shafts. Nice irons which with the size instills confidence however, am tempted to try out the Ping i10s and may look to get a new set of irons at the end of this season coming.

Wedge:

Titleist Vokey 60deg - I like the flop shot, just wanted a 60deg wedge and this was all the pro shop had.

Putter:

Ping B60 (original) "for the feel/design" or
Odyssey Mid-length 2ball white steel "because I was desperate" or
Odyssey white steel no2 "can't think why I bought this"

At the moment am persisting with the Ping and hope to over the coming season. Its the tradesman, not the tool.

Balls:

Titlesit NXT Tour, Callaway HX Tour or Callaway Warbird until they run out. I'm not too fussy when it comes to golf ball.

Mine:

Driver: Crap RAM effort that came with the set!
3W: RAM again, not very good.
5W: Yep, it's another RAM.
4-SW: Mizuno MX-17's, newly aquired and liking them
Putter: Back with RAM, absolutely pants.
Balls: Titleist,Srixon and Top Flite

Would the very nice GM people please consider me for drivers, woods or putters. Spoken by a desperate man!!!

Driver - Nike Sasquatch SUMO2 / the only driver i can hit even remotely straight! Looks and sounds bloody terrible...

Utility - Cobra Baffler DWS / i love this club, more for looks than performance as i slice this club a little (my swing - see swing vision - tut tut)

Mizuno MX17 irons / these clubs are pure velvet, tested a few at AG and these just felt 'right'.

Ben Sayers 60 degree wedge / cheap cheap!

Putter / Odyssey White Hot XG 2 Ball SRT, breeds confidence, just need to learn how to putt

Balls / Srixon AD333, cheap and perform very well - distance and feel.

Also in the bag numerous wooden tees, pitchmark repairers, 5 gloves, Water Bottle, rain suit, Gale Proof unbrella and a couple of towels.

Driver Ping G10 9deg Grafalloy Prolaunch Red stiff. I tried lots of drivers due to new regulations and this was by far the best of the bunch got it fitted on a demo day by Ping.

3 wood TM Burner 15 deg Stiff Superfast Shaft, was close between this and G10 but loved the look of this at address and great sound too.

5 Wood Old Mcgreggor Looking to change this soon but not sure what to get.

Irons Nike NDS 3-SW soon to be changed to Muzuno MX25 with regular shafts, if they ever arrive after being fitted at Cumbernauld two weeks ago still no sign of them yet . Loved the Mizunos great ball flight and easy to shape when you hit it right.

Lob Wedge is an old Leyland 60 deg got it from my Grandad and am loath to change for sentimental reasons but it really should go.

Putter John Letters Trilogy at the moment as I am very confident with it.

Balls only use NXT Tour great feel with lots of spin.

Gloves Nike

Shoes Footjoy Dryjoy Pro in white, simply one of the most comfortable shoe's around, Callaway Sport Saddle in black.

driver callaway ft3 with fade 8.5 degree

A mixed bag in the process of evolution:

Driver: TaylorMade r7 draw - noisy as hell but works for me,

3-wood: vacant. absolutely love the Ping G10 - best club in the G10 range

5-wood: TaylorMade r7 - swapped out the package woods which had rubbish shafts. a bit inconsistent (me that is) but when it's good . . .

Hybrids: Ben Sayers M1 2-i - an experiment and at £25 worth trying
Bayhill 4-i - a bit stiff this one though it says Regular, getting better with it but it might go

Irons: Ben Sayers M7 graphites 5-SW, still the package clubs - next to go. Actually not bad but recently tried G5 and got a lot more distance and straighter. If I can't afford them then it's going to be Orka.

Wedges: vacant. this (these) will depend on the new irons

Putter: Ping B60 - shortened. a little bit of magic.

Ball: currently Warbirds but have been recommended NXT Extreme

Callaway Big Bertha 460cc - Regular shaft and 11 degrees. Bought it when I returned to playing golf properly. Had a Wilson fat shaft 10 degree but the head was only 400 cc and was so hard to hit well

Callaway Big Bertha 3 wood - regular shaft 15 degree - present from the wife for my birthday last year

Callaway steelhead + 5 wood - metal shaft - old favourite had it for years. Needs a new grip but still going strong

Cobra Baffler DWS 3 hybrid 20 degree - regular shaft. Bough it last year as I was struggling with long irons. Great for long par 3's as it comes in high and soft

Callaway X20's - 4-PW (SW included but don't use it). 2 degree upright - steel shafts - recently traded my old X14's in for a newer set. Tried loads at AG for a custom fit and these were the ones I hit best and most accurate in terms of dispersion. About 5 yards a club shorter than my old X14's and not sure whether that is because I'm playing badly at the moment

SW - Ben Hogan Apex (gift from GM for submitting an article) 56 degree with steel shaft. Great club especially out of bunkers. Find myself playing sand shots with more confidence

LW - Titleist Vokey (oil can finish) 60 degrees and face rusting nicely. Great for a shot from <40 yards. Nice smooth full swing and it flies high and stops dead

Putter - at the moment a sore subject was using an odyssey marxman mallet style - 34 inches but not behaving as it should

Thinking of going back to my 34 inch odyssey dual force 554 withthe softer black insert or my original ping anser. Not playing this weekend so will be on the putting gree looking for answers

Bag - Callaway Eurotour cerry bag black/silver

Glove - Foojoy Sciflex (several colours)

Ball Titleist Pro v or Callaway HX tour

Shoes - Foojoy Dryjoy black and Hi Tec CDT black/white

Apart from the standard kit what else do you ALWAYS carry with you.

I have a smally tupperware box with toilet paper (in case of emergencies!!, immodium - i use to suffer with bad nerves, several large plasters - for blistered feet, strips of plaster for blistes on hands, a strip of neurofen and scissors. It lives right at the bottom of the main zip pocket with my rain hood.

I also always carry a rain glove (becomes tackier and better as it gets wet) in case of showers and a spare leather glove.

Always have a drink in the bag. Also carry a large bag of tees pencils and ball markers (way more than I need just I never take the bag out)

That is WHAT IS IN his bag but THIS IS WHATS TIED to his bag !!!

Driver: Ping G5 10.5 deg Grafalloy blue stiff shaft.
Love this club. Get good height and distance from tee shots. My bad shot, the pull hook, has nothing to do with the club....

3 wood: Titleist 904F. stiff shaft.
The small head really suits my eye and promotes a lowish boring flight.

16 deg Taylor Made rescue:
The weak point of my set, not the club, it's lovely. One of the original rescues with the smaller head, but an 18 deg would be better for my distances.

Irons: 3-PW Nike CCI forged (Custom Fit)s300 shaft.
Love the feel off the club face and the blade look suits my eye for aesthetics. Not the most forgiving club, but thats not what I look for in my irons. A penetrating flight helps control my shots.

Wedges: 52 and 58deg Nike SV tour. S100 shafts
These are my favorite clubs in my bag. The spin and control they impart have helped me no end around the green and from 100 yards in.

Putter: YES OLIVIA.
Again very happy with this, promotes a lovely roll off the face. Haven't played around with the weighting yet, may do that when it comes to summer.

Driver:- Mizuno MP600, Aldila VS Proto 65. New this year, not as long as previous R7 425 but more accurate so far.

Fairway:- R7 18° Fairway Wood Suits my needs on my home course.

Irons:- Mizuno MP30s 5-PW DG R300 Shaft. Very nice to play with.
Mizuno MP FliHi 3 & 4 Irons, a lot easier to hit, same spec as irons. May well add 2 iron to this and drop the 3 iron on accassions.

Wedges:- Vokey 56° with 14°Bounce great out af all sand and rough and Vokey 60° Lob handy around greens.

Putter:- Two Ball very good, although I do play an old Dual Force II during the winter.

Ball:- TM TP Red.

But that's this week, it may well change before the season gets underway!

ping g10, proforce v2 stiff shaft 10.5 degree (traded in a hi-bore that i couldnt get on with)
Ping g5 3 wood - grafalloy blue shaft (great alternative of the tee
Macgregor M685 forged irons - rifle 5.0 shafts (love em)
srixon 56 degree , titleist oil can 60 degree wedges
currently switching beween an old ping anser and odyssesy two ball
Srixon ZURC ball (just as good but £5 cheaper than pro v1's

Going through quite a few drivers at the min but the g10 looks to be the answer . . . . until next weekend :)
