What's going to go wrong next?

Not had the best start to this year so far.
Arm in sling for six weeks, my car's head gasket blows, my wife's car has started knocking on start-up, the dormer roof has leaked causing water to come in through the bedroom ceiling and today ...................... the coldest night of the year ............... yup, my boiler has packed up and the engineer can't come out until Monday night!

Things can only get better ................................ can't they?

I'd just driven to Lincoln this morning when I learnt that my sister had been rushed to hospital with a suspected blood clot on her lungs, which, mercifully, merely turned out to be pleurisy ................ made me bloody jump though.
Got home and found out that the boiler still hadn't fixed itself.

I've recently booked a week away in Lanzarote for a bit of R & R. Flying out on March 3rd.
I've just received eMail confirmation. Flying out from Gatwick, no probs, flying back to Luton. WHAT!........LUTON!
My bloody car will be parked at Gatwick. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh.
I've just had to eMail the travel company to explain this and hopefully get it sorted out. I couldn't do this over the phone, although they could confirm that it was ALL MY FAULT and there may well be an added charge. How can I ever prove that it was their fault and, if there is an added charge, should I pay it or cancel the whole damned thing as a matter of principle?

Give us a bit more info on your boiler, may be able to diagnose the problem for you?

Give us a bit more info on your boiler, may be able to diagnose the problem for you?

It's an Alpha CB28. The red light keeps coming on, usually flashing but sometimes solid, and I have to reset the thing using the control knob. The problem is I sometimes have to go through the reset procedure 20 or more times before it works, sometimes it just won't work & I have to leave things until the next day.
Once it gets going it may run trouble free for 36 hours, or maybe for 10 minutes ........................ there's just no way of knowing.
Any pointers would be good,
