What's for din dins

well thats me officially stodged.
the turkey was the best we have ever had ,we dont usually do turkey but this year we did and it was stunning.
all the trims were laid on to go with it ,and then it was onto the christmas pud ,a goodly sized portion and then ladled with brandy sauce. absolutely smashing .dam my wife can cook.
all this was washed down with a bottle of champagne donated by my work place .
so heres to everybody that has had a bearing on my christmas this year ,i raise my glass and salute you ,you are truly special in the poacher household . merry christmas guys.may all you dreams come true.

Dinner over and have to report a total success.

Turkey: Moist and delicious
Stuffing: Chestnutty and toothsome
Roasties: To die for
Parsnips: Roasted to perfection
Sprouts: Cooked in chicken stock with bacon lardons - the absolute business
Gravy: Beyond fantastic.

Only problem is that I now can't move for fear of exploding.

I share your fear and my dinner was equally scrumptious

Almost a disaster, i left the barbie on for 50 minutes waiting on the honey roasted Parsnips to cook.

Then the barbie decides to run out of gas just as i'm about to start cooking the steaks

So plan B, it's into the frying pan then into the oven.
Sound like a well known phrase or saying , but it's true .
oh oh oh !.

Why would you cook anything in a BBQ let alone Christmas Dinner!!?!?

Our only disaster is that we ate too much to make it through to the cheese, otherwise a well executed dinner. Slight hiccup with the main course served at 13:30 and the dessert at 17:30 due to the excessive quantities of mains consumed.

Plenty of sprouty leftovers ready for the best possible bubble and squeak tomorrow morning. Slavering already.

Ham for us, was not bad but due to a raft of family illness it was just 5 of us rather than 14

Would have preferred my use to jump on just eat and grab a takeaway...

Woke up due to sprout dreams...

wifey has just put a turkey and ham pie in the oven ,probably be eating around half two.
she has just made four pies and the others will be taking up residence in the freezer.

Got a spread out whilst watching the footy to pick at, cold meats from yesterday plus some salad stuff, pork pie, cheeses & pickles

excellent choice sir! Can I suggest a glass of Taylor's tawny port to go with it - worked for me!

Pint of Bombadier currently, may move onto a nice drop of St Emilion and then I've got some Cockburns to fall back on to 🍺🍷
