Playing in my first ever pro-am on friday and was wandering what i should expect from the pro.Having walked nine holes last year with the juniors and his pro he seemed so helpful and supportive and he had a great game himself.Another pro who i asked how it was going on the 8th hole basically seemed fed up.Is he a team player for the day or does his individual score mean more, and what would you do if he was moody and uniterested if you were playing bad, your thoughts.

A lot will depend on how the guy is playing. If he's scoring well, he may well just do his own thing, after all, he's in with a chance of a cheque depending on how well he does. If he's a seasoned pro-am guy, he'll know before you start if you're in with a chance of a team prize going by the handicaps of the am members of the team.

It's certainly an eye opener to see how they play the course. Just remember to play your own game and don't try to keep up with him.

Have fun whatever happens ;)

Agree that you need to play your own game but a lot depends ont he guy. Some don't mind a bit of banter as it keeps them loose and not too concerned abotu their own game and others are purely in it to win the cash and the ams are a bit of a hinderence. Play it by ear and if you get a "me, me me" pro don't be put off and try and enjoy the day with your other partners
