In normal English, you must have played 3 medal/stableford comps to validate your handicap before being able to enter board comps/majors/comps with substantial prizes
It's the same rule at ours and was brought in as new members with a hc before joining had been know to clear up in the majors because their handicap wasn't as accurate as it should be

What I found funny is when I joined my place, I had a fully active hc with proof that I had just won two comps and been cut but it wasn't enough, I still had to do the 3 comp probation
