Recently i've had a few lessons. Amongst them i had a putting lesson. I'll not say what this involved until after, but would the teaching pros out there, or anyone who's had a putting lesson, please tell me what such a lesson would involve if they were partaking?

If I was giving a putting lesson, I would check the grip, the aim, the posture, ball position, hand and arm position, length of putter, type of grip, style of head of putter and width of stance.
I would watch the stroke to see if there was any excess body movement or wrist movement and make sure the swing was a suitable length for the putt required and was a smooth stroke as opposed to a hit and hope.
Shouldn't take much more than 30 mins.
I may of missed something out, but those are the main points.
I would finish the lesson by giving the pupil a drill which they could practice to improve their putting.
I might even sell them a 'you-know-what'

What Bob summarised is preety much what I had for my lesson although my pro did put it on video so I could see how my shoulders were way closed and my address open and so I was always cutting across the ball even if it didn't look like it from above.

I have been putting much better (until the last fortnight or so) but think I've got it back thanks to a long session using my eyeline putting mirror

I had a 1 hour lesson/CF....

Posture, grip, stroke, aim....all the expected. My chap used a video and adjusted my putter after the hour.

Best golf lesson ever. I completely eat my words from a year ago saying that I couldn't see the point.

Just came back from a putting lesson. All above was covered and my pro also used a swing contraption that was like a metal door frame with a bar fitted inside that stops the golfer from moving off line. What amazed me is how far off a true rocking motion my putting stroke was. The cradle has given me a completely new feel in the stroke. Fantastic 30 minutes - plenty to work on.
