So you go out and shoot a good score.. go home and tell the missus.... what score would literally get more than the casual "Well done dear" response? or would shooting a 59 not even make the witch seem pleased? :p

No particular reason for the post other than I knocked it round in +1 today whilst my missus was WALKING THE COURSE with me and she said "You were a bit crap in places but not bad!":confused::confused::confused: WTF!!!!

thats what I thought when I played with you, tell your missus great minds think alike ;)

on topic my gf wouldnt have a clue tbh. She was chuffed when I said we had won last weekend, then she pointed out just aswell as I had been going on about it for weeks!!!

HID is happy if I'm happy. Anything around handicap is fine and even those rounds where I hit it great but can't make a score. To be honest after nearly 20 years together she has lost a tad of interest.

That sounds about right. Mine would not even walk the course. Must be nearly time to trade her in for a new model I guess?

tried it but with depreciation, high mileage and a few dings on the bodywork, I couldnt give her away let alone get a decent trade in :D

she feigns an intrest but i bamboozel her with random golf talk so she switches off.

i played with a fella today that has 4 daughters. so thats 5 women and 1 man in the house. is it any wonder he is out in the sanctuary of the course as often as possible. lol

i told my ma that rory mcilroy had a quadtriple bogey yesterday. she then asked me if i had ever gotten one. i had to explain that a quadruple is not a good thing! lol

HID watches more golf than I do, a lot more. She has caddied for me plenty of times, and walks the course a couple of times a week when I play on an evening. She knows if I don't break 80 I won't be happy, and equally if I shoot less than 75 I'll be in an excellent mood.

Yep, she knows good golf from bad.

My wife shows a wee bit of interest if I win, but quickly shows how bored she is when I recall each shot lol.

She loves a bit of scandal though :), if someone stood in someone elses line or had a practice swing during their drive she wants to know if anything was said or if someone is on their last chance lol.

In truth I make it up sometimes, to mask the fact that I had an extra beer and I am late.

69.....Nuff said.....:whoo:

On a more serious note my other half wouldn't have an iota......The worst thing is that if i told her how id shot a good score then id have to explain the ins and outs of Par and the usual stuff.....
More hassle than its worth.....So id just tell her i played very well and leave it at that.

She does know a little about handicaps and that though....

HID has no clue about golf, has no inclination to learn about golf, gets upset when I talk about it (even to mutual friends who play golf) gets really upset when long boxes arrive and depart via the post office and various other couriers - although I do suspect she is happy when I vanish for 4 or 5 hours at a time

We have developed a fairly standard conversation, based on the fact that both of us knows she doesn't want to know the details but does care that I enjoyed myself. It goes a bit like
HID: "how was golf?"
Me: "Yes it was good. Played reasonably well too"
HID: "Oh good. Enjoyed yourself then?"
Me: "Yeah"

And then we get on with the rest of our day.

My Mrs couldn't give two hoots. When I told her I was 6" from a HIO the other day the response wasn't unlike "what's one of them?".
