what numbers would you put low mid high handicappers?
1 to 6 low
6 to 12 mid
13 and above high
your a hard task manager Mark, saying a 13 handicapper is high.. someone once posted the percentage of single handicappers in golf , it was pretty low ..
up to 9 low
10 - 16 mid
17 up high
i
Low - 9 and under
Mid 10-18
High 19 and over
I think that anything up to 5 is low and from 6-9 is mid and anything in double figures his high and anyone over 18 has no real intention of playing the game as a sport but more of a way of getting exercise with their mates and don't bother about holding up other golfers on the course.

People are entitled to an opinion regardless of if you agree with it or not
I would go with the general consensus. But with an added extra, scratch golfer.
3 and below - scratch
4-9 - low
10-18 - mid
19-28 - high
the reason I see it like that is because that is what targets for new golfer looks like. People always aim to get their first handicap and play to it, then try and hit the the 18 mark. Once that has happened they then aim for the magical single figures. Then it is time to be a scratch player.
I have said about the scratch player as I do not think they should be categorised with high single figure handicaps. I have always noticed once players are 3 or below there is not much difference between them. But that is just how I see the different standard of golfers.
