What is the rule if I am playing one hole and my ball lands and stops on a green of a different hole?

Do I play my next shot from where the ball lies on the green?

Or

Do I have to move my ball off the green and play my next shot from elsewhere and if so how is this play point determined and is there a penalty?

Its likely to get you hung from the club flagpole if you do play off the green - no it's a free drop, nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole

Chris

You MUST take a drop from an incorrect green...... free drop nearest point of relief no nearer the hole.

Must learn to type faster!!!!!!! :D

As others have said. Drop at the nearest relief no closer to the pin and within 1 club length. The ball must not strike the green when dropped.

You can take your stance on the green though.

Rule 25-3

This is a good video explains what exactly the nearest point of relief is.

Nearest point of relief
