And then when you hit your PP's nice new pro v 1 ball into the lake you can’t help but feel a little bit guilty.

I played in a Greensome trophy comp today. It was very noticeable that there were large gaps in the field and it is often the same when we have a 4BBB comp on a Saturday.

What is that makes players not want to play at all rather than play 4 ball?

Greensomes might put some people off, I'm not a fan myself but 4BBB is popular at most places. Think the only issue is often finding a partner.

I have a great pairs partner for the foreseeable. Returned to the fold this year and a mate for the last 30 years. We have two fifth places so far, both hate alternate shot formats and both off a high (ish) handicap and so get a few shots in the knockouts later in the year. When we have pairs (better ball events), most pairs are all members of the weekend roll ups and so the banter on and off the course is huge and we're usually round in less than four hours each time.
