What is a Syndicate?

HI Guys

What is a Golf Syndicate? I hear of things called Syndicate days etc but not sure what that is, is that just a big group of golfers?

Reason is, a few people in my church play golf so was thinking of getting together as a big group every now and then and going to a source somewhere, but is that then classed as a syndicate or just 4 or 5 4 balls?

not heard of a syndicate, but you may as well just call it the xxx church golf society, most clubs will take bookings from societies.

I think it might be societies that I keep hearing of and not syndicates. Sorry my bad. So is a society just a large group of golfers then?

Some Societys are well organised, a friend of mine was recently Captain of his Society, the arrange a number of games at various local clubs.

its ofte na group of golfers who aren't members of clubs but want some sort of organised golf.
