What Eureka moments has your game had ?

My pro commented how good my putting was when we played together on Saturday, didn't miss anything inside 5 feet. I nearly sold him a V-Easy too!

I've had several but the one that has helped my game the most has been changing my mental state during my game. From not worrying about bad shots as they are going to happen I'm an 18 handicapper to just enjoying the game it's ment to be fun. The biggest help has been stopping all swing thoughts and just thinking about the target.

Nope the pro did not but while practising for the round 3 people came up to me and had a go, passed on you details of course. We were the last of 8 groups so everyone got a good look at me holing out loads

My pro did like it however, but like many very good players I meet they agree its great but do everything it teaches. If you get any sales from the Cambridge area they might be down to me!

I will of course keep working on my regular playing partners to make sure they buy one.

in the last 5 months (my whole playing career so far) I had about 20 eureka moment
always managed to forget it

last one was on 10th (Camperdown) when I noticed good player hit hybrid. Tried to reproduce his swing (posture really) and was amazed on result.
Next game I could not figure out what it was ... yesterday I (think) managed to recall the feeling and can't wait for the weekend to try it again ...

When have you suddenly watched a clip or read a book and instantly know that what you have been doing is wrong and you instantly know how to fix it ?. My moment was watching a dvd of a golfer on how to hit irons, I was always trying to get the club under the ball in the pretence that is how you got the ball airbourne instead of driving the club into the back of the ball and letting the loft do the work.

Last night at my lesson

Taking the club back too much on the inside. As a result, the club was going behind my legs. Couple that with a flat swing meant my swing in it's current guise was never going to be repeatable.

When the Pro explained what I was doing and why it was less than ideal, I could almost hear the penny drop

Even after working with a pro, I expect my swing still have it's own little quirks, but at least will be semi repeatable :thup:
