What does this tell you, (other than I'm crap)....

just come back from 2 weeks playing Florida and in one day hit 100% of the fairways and GIR was pretty good too! Now that stat sounds pretty good however the fairways out there a bigger than my wifes backside and the greens were like football pitches! ;)

regards to the OP in my opinion stats are not 100% right at times and to shoot 20 points after 9 holes is more impressive! :)

I hope your wife does not browse this forum :D

but I know what you mean ;) about the fairways that is :D

I wasn't aware you could keep stats for greens nearly hit, or fairways only just missed.

Game Golf shows a map of your course and where each shot was played, it shows how many chips from off the green miss left or right short or long from different distances plus loads more

And that's why it's top of my Christmas list......... that's if I can wait that long :)

Raw stats only tell you so much but to be able to see *how* you played that day, not just GIR and Fairways hit but things like how bad were your misses would be fantastic. At the moment I play a very dull game - I par the course to death on a good day. If I shoot 6 over chances are it's 6 boggies and 12 pars, the vast majority in reg. 4 over it's just more pars. I've concentrated massively on my long game over the past 6-8 months or so of playing and am only now looking at short game. Maybe a tad backwards from some methodologies (from the green backwards approach is more usual I'm guessing) but it's working for me. My pro says I now need to switch focus and learn how to score.

Anyway, my point is (coz unusually I have one) I can have 2 rounds where my long game and short game is comparable but in one I just miss a few greens by a yard or so a bunch of times and in the the other I just hit the green by a yard or so a bunch of times. The stats say my long game was way off on the round where I just missed the green a few times but in reality it was neigh on identical to the round where I just about hit the green. Equally, if when I was a foot off the green 4 times I got up and down to a close flag every time, stats wise it would look like my short game is on fire but in a round where my long game deserts me utterly and I'm having to pitch in from miles away and 'only' get up and down on 2 occasions it appears that it's my short game that has slipped. In reality those 2 up and downs from longer range were far harder than the 4 easy chips from the fringe and it was my long game that let me down in round 2, not my short game no matter what the stats say.

I'm hoping Game Golf gets round this by showing How I play so I can look back over time and decide where to focus, not just the stats.

Nope. I'd rather score 14 points hitting the ball well than 20 scabbing it round.
But that's just me.

I know where you're coming from on that one and I'm with you. However sometimes you have to enjoy the good fortunes and the fact you can make scores when not playing well. I think when you have confidence in a set of irons you trust you'll be in good shape
