What does the future hold for Tiger

He's had his rest, he's got his head together, he's fit and missed the cut.

I know it's his first time back out on tour again, but surely someone should have suggested to him to play a few warm up comps to get his eye in?

I do think he'll win again , but I don't think it'll be a major.

He's still got serious issues with his swing and, if anything, he should ditch Foley and take a slice of humble pie and go back to Butch Harmon.

Harmon has already said this week there is no chance of him and Woods working together and that too much has happened for it to change. Not sure if that's a reference to Butch not agreeing with Tigers off course demise (get the impression Harmon is quite a religious guy) or that there has been some huge bust up and bridges have been burned

On current form I can't see him contending anytime soon and don't think its in his psyche to just go through the motions to pick up a 20th place cheque. Not sure what he does. If he changes or improves the swing it still has to be tested in competitions and if it isn't workign what then. Play through until it clicks or keep tweaking. I think should he go outside the top 50 and start missing WGC events etc then he'll call it a day

He needs to come over to Europe for a bit and hone his swing and impliment his swing changes away from the hysteria of USA.

I fear it's game over for Tiger. Whether he has the humility to accept it is a different question. He is about to plummet down the world rankings and I'm not sure whether he'll handle it that well. It's sad to see but I just can't see how he'll come back.

I think as long as he can get over the public perception of him,he will carry on and win again.
If i can turn it around after two rounds,im sure Tiger can.

Its quite upsetting to see a man who dominated world golf for so long +9 and struggling. I know he's had "trouble" outside of golf and inside of golf but the level of his demise is truely horrific. I used to love watching his swing and the passion he had for the game, at the moment he just seems to be playing for appeasement (sp). I fully bought into the Tiger world, he got me interested in golf, and his attitude towards the game was great for golf.

He now has a poor attitude, I think he has been downhill since his father passed away, which must be a horrible experience, but I feel his dad kept his feet on the ground and kept him out of trouble.

He needs to sort his swing out, some of those shot were club golf not tour golf, one clip showed the amount of movement in body during his swing, at one point his head was dropping around 8-10inches. Not good. He needs to calm down, his swing is OTT, he can hit the ball softly and still make par instead of trying to hit the white off it and come in at double bogey.

I would to see one of my golfing idols back onto great form and winning,

but

I feel unless he eats some humble pie, gets a good coach/caddy and has a major talk to himself he is on a slippery slope to David Duval land.

Does anyone else think it may have been a case of "too much too young"?

No i dont think it was that he was too young.
I think mentally hes probably gone,losing his family would be tough to take,and he came back too soon.
Now he needs to get a good team around him and start to rebuild slowly.
He has many great years ahead,but he needs to get his head right first.

I dont think he will ever be fully fit mentally or physically again. Like some have said might pick up a minor title but can't see him winning a major without some serious serious work.

He is trying to hit the ball way too hard.

Three years go, he was one of the longest. Now he is not even close. Trying to keep up with the bubbas is stupid.

But he has a Great short game.

Given that his knee is shot, If he hit at three quarters, then he would last longer, and shoot better scores.

If he continues lashing it, I can see retirement on the horizon.

TBH, I think he's more likely to win a major at the moment than a PGA event, mainly because he knows how to handle the pressure of winning a major, unlike most golfers who tend to crumble away.

For me, the health thing is now gone and he is currently fighting his swing changes. Once he understands his mechanics to become natural, he'll start winning. BUT, I do think there's an element of him wishing that he was further down the swing change road, as I'm picking up a big difference in what he's saying pre-event to what actually he does. To my mind, Foley's days are dwindling...

His normal side? You must be joking. That couldn't be any less normal. He was working that day making a commercial. He can fake bonhomie when he wants, to be fair, though.

But that illustrates the problem and why his fall from grace was so marked. His whole image was crafted as him being just like everyone else, good family and all the American values, pretty blonde wife, cute mixed race kids blah blah blah. Turns out a lot of the rest of the image was bollocks too.

I hate to see the demise of tiger,the best golfer we've seen
but he's not a victim,he's brought everything down on himself,his father passing away was a catalyst of things to
come and he could'nt handle it the way normal people do,he's
changed his wife,caddy,management,swing,etc,but he cant change who he is,and he does'nt like it.

But for a long time the golf wasn't.

Golf doesn't "need" Tiger Woods in the long term but he's still the biggest draw around.

I have no respect for the man due to to the above reasons but he is a the man who got me and many, many others into golf and the reason a lot of Pro's are multi-millionaires.

I doubt he'll ever win another major but it would be great to see him in contention again.

I think he'll try for a while but if there is no return not for as long as a year. The question is what does he do during the USPGA off-season? The one thing he doesn't need is more off time, he needs to be playing competitively so the idea of joining the European may not be that wide of the mark, though I think the Asian is more likely.
