What does Paul Dunne do

He has graduated with a degree in Business from his Uni, if he wins he will get a voucher which i think is £500,maximum for an Am i think

As an aside. So what would happen to the prize money if an amateur won? Dished out amongst the other prizes? The R & A keep it? Given to cherridee?

1st place prize money goes to the highest finishing pro and so on down the list (for the money aspect its as if an amateur didn't exist)

He started/entered as an Amateur so he ends as an amateur. You can't change once it begins. This was confirmed on the radio today.

Is this right?

I believe that at the Masters those invited by reason of being amateur champs can't turn pro to take prize money, as that was the basis of the invite, however I always thought that at the Open, if you qualified through the qualifying process you could turn pro and take any prize money due. Tried looking on the R&A site but couldn't find a definitive answer. Any links?

They would have to turn Pro before the tournament began. You could qualify as an Amateur months before the event.
The Masters has its own set of rules.

I wish him well today but does anyone else think his PSR looks like he's in the middle of having a lesson at the range?

Well, I am going to start trying that myself. Deliberate, for sure, but he has his coach caddying for him, and I bet the coach is emphasising the importance of getting in the zone with the routine each time.

Yeah I suppose my post may indicate a criticism (and maybe it is in a small part) but I also meant it as a bit of a compliment that he's staying so focused/disciplined despite the huge pressure that must building

Definitely due a big cut then, as CSS will be really high

Ashley Chesters is another one to watch out for, been tearing it up on the Amateur scene for a few years now (also played last years open i think)

Dunne played last years open too, has won final qualifying at Woburn 2 years in a row in some pretty decent fields

Not true, R&A made a statement that if an Am should win it then the first place prize will be distributed amongst the pros who made the cut. 2nd place will still get 2nd place prize.
