I probably didn't explain this very well. I'll be playing with her as a members guest. On that basis it's £15-20. Morpeth GC, it's decent enough, if not exceptional.

She normally spends £60-70 on stuff I don't want but she would like. I always feel guilty that she spends so much and I don't appreciate it. Whereas.........a round of golf, in summer, day of our choosing so the weather will be good, what is not to like .

A night in Shrewsbury jail

Very good experience that. As a salopian we used to be scared to go near that place as kids in case a prisoner had escaped!

Bizarrely it’s right in the town centre and so there’s plenty of good places for food and drink nearby if you get chance.

We stayed in Shrewsbury earlier this year and we loved it. We actually walked past the prison and mentioned about staying there. We were gobsmacked when our daughter had booked it. Looking forward to going back.
