Am looking to really kick start my game in 2012 (aren't we all).

Currently shoot late 90's early 100's and had a few lessons last year.

Range work i've always enjoyed just never get time to be on the course.

Have worked out that if i manage my time better and not sit down of an evening watching Dave then i could maybe find 10 hours a week to practice (including weekends) even if it's putting in the lounge.

Have a lesson next week and will then sit down with the Pro and look for some advice on how best to use this time.

Any tips from you guys appreciated.Have been invited to play in a tean event in September so there is a big target to work towards.

My advice would be have the lesson first and see what the pro says. He's bound to give you some drills and I find they normally take 2-6 sessions to bed in properly depending on how drastic a change it is. If there isn't much to fix, then I'd try and structure it. Perhaps just take some wedges and focus on pitching (especially the tricky half shots). Maybe a night with the long irons, hybrids and fairway woods. Its about finding ways to practice smarter and not just hit balls or ingrain bad moves and faults. I'm sure Bob or one of the better players can give you something more specific to work with

Wait until you speak to your pro?

But defo short game if you can for half of those ten hours and you will really see the benefits.

If you have a par three course near you, it may be worth playing a round or two in the evenings to improve your short game. Also see if you can have an on course lesson with your pro sometime so he can see how you approach the course and offer some tips.
