This may be a daft one but over the last few weeks or local greens have been semi frozen and so you get hard bounces and plenty of roll- almost like the height of summer!
Usually I just play crappy balls that I find in the bushes over the winter but would a premium ball that offer greenside control help when the greens are like this? Or I'm I making 2+2=5?

Yes, you are making 2+2=5 I'm afraid. No ball will stop on a hard icy green.

When it's frozen it makes no difference what you use. They'll all hit the hard ground and bounce. Any spin from a premium ball is negated by the conditions

I did actually get one to stick on a frozen green once....
It had a layer of frost under a layer of ice with rain on the top.
A towering wedge embedded the ball in the ice.....true "hit and sit" :ROFLMAO:
