Just curious to know what everyone is planning to do over the coming winter months.
How often you expect to play ?
Any lessons planned ?
Goals you may have set for yourself ?
If you're going on a golf holiday, where you want to go?

I'm hoping to play once a week minimum and planning to have a couple lessons, hoping to stay injury and illness free too.

Work my way round all the fabulous seaside courses of East Lothian! Playing some new tracks would be great.
Then decide which club to join.
Hopefully get rid of niggly injuries.
Maybe do some range practice.

Where are you from? If its not too far, give me a call and i'll give you a knock round Goswick

For me it's putting in the hours on the range to finally grow this admittedly improving swing into something completely repeatable time and time again to give me the consistency I know I'm capable of.

Im definately going to get c/f for some irons, then really practice and get ready to take my handicap to single figures.Im not going to play on frozen greens like i did last year total waste of time. Also looking to get a rescue club to replace the four iron instead of the five iron equivelent ive got now. Then i should be ready to kick ass at the forum meet and make it 3 podium finishes in a row.

I hope to get to the range/play at least once a week. I also hope to have about 5 or 6 lessons before March.

I also need to find/decide which course to join for next year since I'm no longer on my wee island, and back on the big island!

Almost the same. Starting in Angus at Canoustie, we play our way down the coast at different Links courses through Fife and usually end up at Dunbar in East Lothian.
Playing great courses such as St.Andterws Jubillee, New and Dukes. Crail Balcombie, Lundin Links, Leven Links, Longniddry, Gullane,North Berwick etc.
Sometimes I play more in the winter than in the summer.
As for Holidays, it will be Florida in February and perhaps three days in the Algarve a week before Christmas.

Not playing you for money when we meet :D

Off the wee island? Shame that cause its a cracking island with a cracking course.

You will have to come over this way for a game!!!

Well our winter season in my eyes started today.....Lift Clean and Place on fairways and cut rough......So i guess the handicap would really do much until next season......

The goal is to play once a week....weather permitting but iv checked the long term forecast for Ireland and the UK and it aint looking good.....This winter looks set to be the same as last year.....

Im thinking of maybe getting myself a carry bag and also just playing wth my Irons and my 5 wood....I want to get so familiar with the Irons that im confident with all of them standing over any shot....well ataa least thats the plan anyway :D :D :D

Get sorted with new irons, sooner rather than later and get to get practising with them. I'll also be in the market for new hybrids, wedges and a putter. One step at a time though.

I've recently joined a club so I'd like to get out there and play it as much as possible along with getting a few more lessons.

Still a few sweeps left at my place so hopefully a wee cut.Am going to play in the winter league as well as our own squads eclectic, a few lessons and some time on the practise ground.

Hav laid of the gym work recently so back to that and hopefully out on my bike,as long as the weather holds up,and maybe a few rounds else where.

I'll play all winter like I always have, probably twice a week. We're lucky - our course is very well drained so it's regular tees and greens all year round. The only thing which kept me off the course last year was the snow.

Work wise, my short game needs some attention prior to our annual trip to the Algarve in January. I remember earlier this year hitting the ball tee to green really well whilst we were there but struggling to get close on really quick greens from 50 yards in.

I've mentioned it on another post but my winter intention is mainly fitness based. Want to loose a stone and get a little stronger and more flexible. Nothing too drastic just be healthier thats all.
My golf will continue, just try extra hard to just hit fairways and greens and play good consistent golf.

Will try to play once a week at least weather permitting. I've entered a couple of the winter league comps and there is always the Sunday morning roll-up.

I've just started lessons with a new pro and there is lots of work to be done on my swing to try to get more consistency, so will be down the range a couple of times a week at least.

Holidays? I'll be having a few short breaks to the Lakes and Scotland once the weather turns to brush up on my winter climbing technique ready for the alps next summer.

Fitness training will be a mix of weights, some 10 - 15 mile runs and the odd 50 - 100 miler on the bike (weather dependant).

Then a new club next season and try to get the handicap moving in the right direction again.

I'll continue to play at every opportunity. Hopefully take advantage of winter green fee rates at some local courses I haven't played. Me and my bro are teamed up in the winter league, so we'll win that and go into next season on the front foot :D

Play when I can but I'm going to have a couple of lessons and try and eradicate this lifting movement in my swing. Not looking for any sort of major overhaul but just tighten it all up a bit in preparation for next spring

Finally joining club in December so plenty if range work so I'm ready to make most value if my money! Couple of lessons thrown in and more practise on short game, pretty much everything!
