I recently purchased a c/f set of ping i15s,after the first two rounds which i generally hit them well,i now cant hit them at all and i mean at all, shanking pulling you name it im doing it.I have noticed they are slightly closed at address and my consistant shot with my old irons was a 5-10 yrd fade.I now feel im going to have to change my whole set up for a draw.I wont give up on the irons and i know i will need lessons now,but any advice would be much appreciated.Im desperate :D

If the fitting was a reliable one by someone who knows what they are doing, then it is probably the right one and you are just going through a down phase with the swing. Stick with it.

Don't worry about the closed appearance. It is probably an illusion. See what the ball flight does.

If all else fails, take some photos because you will need those to sell them here!

Don't panic. Last year I was also custom fit for a set of i15s. Played well for a week and then fat, thin, shank, push, pull - the full repertoire. My mistake was trying to play them in on the course when I should have gone on the practice area and hit a load of balls just to get the proper feel of the new irons. As our practice area is well naff what I actually did was get up to the course at 5:30 in the morning and take myself to the furthest hole and practice undisturbed for nearly two hours. After hitting about 20 balls it all began to slot into place and the rest of the time was just fun (and a huge sense of relief!).

I suffered with i15's as well.
Hit them very well at the fitting
Couldn't make a decent contact on the course
Completely lost confidence in them and sold them on with no loss.
Went for a Mizzy fitting and Robert's your Father's Brother!!
That was a year ago and I don't regret it one iota!!!

If they were custom fit by someone decent and you were hitting them well before, then it sounds like its not likely to be the irons that are the problem.

The iron itself wont make you pull or shank it (unless they are COMPLETELY wrong for you, which is hugely unlikely due to you having them c/f), only a bad swing will do that...

It sounds much more like you have just lost some confidence in them (probably due to the closed look at address getting into your head if I were to guess). Its very easy to lose confidence quickly in new clubs because you are still in the "getting to trust them" stage.

I would say just try to forget about the way they look and just trust that they are going to work for you like they did in the first couple of rounds. If it doesnt get any better then just get rid of them because once youve lost confidence in them it will be almost impossible for you to put a good swing on them.
