Started off Saturday with a charity stableford and despite a 5 putt :D for a 7 and a 4 putt for a 9 managed 42 points and got the handicap cut from 23.6 to 21.2 and also won the comp which was my first ever.

Then yesterday played in my first club tie and despite my best efforts to throw it away my partner somehow got us home.

Dont ever think i will live that 5 putt down though!!! What a great weekend though and cant wait for next weekend!!

Congrats on the handicap cut, it's a nice feeling isn't it.

I came down 0.4 this weekend after 0.8 last. I'm now a 7 handicapper for the first time.

Congrats.

I was concentrating on getting all my bad shots out of the way before Wednesday's medal.

And I got every single one out.

At least the sun was shining :)

Shot a gross 97, net 73 on Saturday, so looking to be staying out at 24.1.

Unfortunate as the first was oh so promising. Drove to the front edge of the green from the whites, and missed my eagle put left by about 6 inches!!! Measured the drive on earth tools and I think it's about 310 yards, ceratinly my longest ever and would be very surprised if I ever surpass it. Down wind, and down hill!!! :)

I went up .1 for the 1st time this year thanks to a 5 hole collapse at the start of the front 9 but played a society do at Sand Martins in wokingham today and scored 37 points with 2 blobs. Also had a PB in fairways and greens hit (10 of each) just a shame about the 37 putts otherwise it could easily have been a PB gross score as well.

First comp with handicap adjustments of the season. Played great all winter and in non-qualifying comps over the past month.
Playing well after 8 but had an unmentionable with my wedge up 9 for a double bogey 6. Out in 41 and still pretty pleased.
Then the wheels came off as my confidence was destroyed by the s---k. Back in 58, what a nightmare and luckily I can only go up 0.1.
Now I'm dreading what'll happen at the weekend!! :(
I think a 5 putt may have been the least of my worries!

2 pairs matchplay comps over the weekend with the same score after 10 holes, (6 up), but slightly different from there. Saturday, the opposition fought back and we had to hold on for a win on the last hole. Sunday, we won 8 & 6.

Played singles matchplay Saturday. My opponent who won the comp last week had a shocker. The worse he played the more he beat himself up. I played badly as well but no where near as bad as him. He lost two balls on a simple par three. There was nothing I could say to help, as much as I wanted to. Won 6&5. On Sunday I met the two blokes who were following us on Saturday, they asked on the outcome and said they had never seen so many concessions in a match. Sundays knock, restored my faith I could play. My best ever score of 82. If the weather holds I'm off out this afternoon.

A 5 putt was certainly a first and a last (I hope)!!

I think nerves and frustration got the better of me. Managed to get a grip of myself after that though to finish 1 over gross for the last 5 holes.

Oh no first time I have heard of one Managed a 4 putt two weeks ago, with our greens and my putting anything is possible.

I had a really good weekend, shot 88 - net 70, csss was 73 ,to win 2nd class. That meant a cut to 17 (16.7) that was despite 37 putts - doh. Amazing how much better everything is when you play well :) :)

On a personal note Rangers won the league and we had a family day on Sunday to celebrate our daughter's 11th birthday.

A good one all round :) :) :) :)
