I Just played a round with homer and htl and what a bad round it is was for me, I just couldnt hit a clean shot and then it got into my head at every swing that I was Gonna hit another bad ball, but on Monday I hit a new pb of 4 over on 9 holes and the week before I hit 15 over for 18 holes and I usual hit between 12 and 15 shots over.

I feel gutted

I think you are being way too hard on yourself. Don't forget, it was a handicap card and so every shot counted. You started of pretty well but it was only the lost balls on the two holes on the back that really cost you nad that anything over a double bogey will be reduced to that score for handicapping.

I was talking with Hywel on the way back and he agreed that you've actually got a pretty decent posture and swing for someone who has only been playing seriously for a year or so. What you need to learn is a bit more course management but that only comes with experience. You've a good short game and putting touch and so all in all there is a lot of potential there.

If I was you I'd relax when you put the other cards in. You've got the first one out of the way and so anything you shoot now is a bonus. Just keep it in play. Wexham isn't long and it is running and so you could almost hit a hybrid or iron off most tees and get it round.

Don't be too hard on yourself. It will come and even if you get a highish handicap to star, the potential is there and so once you start playing competitions you'll soon come down and might even pick up the odd win or top three along the way
