Played today at Wollaton park in Nottingham. County card had £20 knocked off the £45 price. front nine was rubbish, proper rubbish. Could not score for toffee with 12 points. Back nine, par par par.
Then two hours of the loudest thunder and lightening you could imagine. It was gorgeous, spent an age filming the deer that are running wild on the course. Watching them eat the leaves off the trees was fantastic. Shot fifteen points on the back nine giving the 16th and 15th a miss due to weather. We were stood on the 17th tee watching the deer on the green, one was using the flag as an itching stick for its neck.
A pp in his 60's who has Luekemia said he has seen nowt like it in all his years golfing. I said they are on the green coz it's the safest place for them. Baghead shouted an obscenity when he knobbed one fifty yards, about ten deer lifted there heads up from the grass in one and looked at him I was in bits.
it was an excellent day on the course in which scoring was secondary. It is a gorgeous gorgeous course cheers Wollaton
