sums up my medal round today. The swing changes are just not bedding in at all :(

Oh well always next week.

The weather was dross and the greens were almost unplayable with standing water, bunkers were like sand soup... No fun whatsoever!

I nr'd after picking up on the 15th after pulling my tee shot o/b, 4th sliced o/b... threw my club, had a hissy fit then just played out the round

I hope it was better for everyone else :)

G1BBO, your not alone. Saturday played texas scranmle pairs, started off par par then 5 bogeys before two more pars, ok half way round we're -1. next 7 holes to par then it went pete tong, partner put his tee shot into the water mine lost in the trees between the 6th/7th fairway, 3 off the tee one to chop out onto the fairway then through the green for 5, up and down for a triple, finished with a par to end the round -3 net, a long way from the prizes. 25% ofcombined h/c meant we had 11.25 shots as opposed to 21 and 24. the played in the afternoon and lost 5 balls. although my general play was ok, my score showed otherwise.

Don't dispare, keep working at the changes and it will come good.

At the moment I'm trying hard to concentrate on the shot I'm playing and my weight transfer and when it works the ball travells straight and long.

Not much better here pal.

Twinged my back on the practice ground pre round. Played 9 holes to 1 over my handicap then came in as my back was killing.

Still layed up with it today so no golf for me for then next few days.

Worst of it is I have no idea how I've done it  just felt stiff at the finish of my swing that gradually turned to pain.

Just back from a good drenching myself. Struggled to find any consistency and dropped four shots to handicap on holes 2 and 3.

Finished up with 90 for 79 nett, expecting 0.1 back but the computer was showing reductions only, 74 was the best score in (par = 72) from a field of just over 40 and most players had finished, :) but then an 18 handicapper came in with a nett 71, didn't think this would affect the CSS but it tripped the computer to CSS 75 so 0.1 back after all. :(

Tempted to play me 2nd round of the weekend event (Saturday-Tuesday) tomorrow as the weather looks the best. Went to the range today after posting 38 pointys yesterday with the ne swing changes. Horrible session and all confidence gone now. Might play a practice round tomorrow instead and take my chances with the rain on Tuesday

I mis-read the title - first read I thought it said played like an otter - would have been more appropriate given the weather.....

i played my singles knockout on thurs gave 6 shots to my playing partner and won 6 and 5,played an inter club match on friday and won 3 and 2,played in the club comp on sat (stableford) and scored 9 points on the front and 11 points on the back( my worse score ever),had a knock this afternoon and shot 4 under my h/c,i have decided not to play in the rain no more.

Must be something in the air.

I played my worst round yet tonight. Could count on one hand how many good strokes I had. A pity as I had told myself I would head up to Thornton for a round and hopefully join the club but tonight has knocked the confidence out of me.

It wasn't wet and windy here at least.

I am very inconsistent and erratic at moment. When I practice on my own it tends to go well but had 2 half rounds on Friday and Monday and lost 10 balls........normally I rarely lose 1 ball during a game............my wedge shots were smashing wildly to the right.Went to the range on Saturday and it went excellent with all clubs.Played in my 1st comp off the WHITES on Sunday at my course and played really well other than the bunkers absolutely smashing me by around 7/8 shots.
Today I am playing the LAKES course (water everywhere lol ) at Longhirst Hall near Morpeth Northumberland and am full of apprehension about it..........aaarrrggghhhh!!!

Cheers Kev

Did the same myself mate in medal comp the other day, thought I was playing really well, then had a 9 on a par 5 , then a 7 on a par 3, 7 on a par 4 completely wrecked the round , came in with 98. Only good thing was that it was sunny.

Keep at it mate , I know I will :D

Sounds like a horrible day overall. At least you tried though. I know a lot of fair weather golfers that wouldn't have gone out at all.

The future's bright. I had 24pts on saturday :D

Matchplay yesterday birdied the 6th to be 1 under par and 2 up.................. lost the next 7 holes in a row to go 5 down - game over

Oh well always next week.

You are not alone. Had a lesson on Thursday. Went out on my own on Friday and hit it great. First round of the weekend comp on Saturday and played well and got 38 points to be lying 2nd overall. Played nine holes yesterday and got a dose of the hosels. Hit the practice ground and no better. Played the second round of the comp today and hit it terribly. All over the shop and a measly 31 points and that was mainly due to a red hot putter and a rediscovered short game. My shots have no power int hem, timing is out, the swing changes aren't there and I have no idea where the club is at any point. How can it go so well and then fall apart so badly
