Has anybody else noticed a change in Westwood this season?

He just does not seem happy on the golf course. Slamming clubs, throwing clubs, swearing, etc.

Not the Westwood I know or love to watch. Come on man get a grip.
 
Has been quite noticeable last few weeks and you're right he's not looking happy with his golfing lot at the moment. Talking of golfers not being happy out on the course, Monty looks to be piling on the pounds. Must be comfort eating to cope with all the stress of the Ryder Cup.
 
Maybe he has set a high target to be #1 again...last time he won Order of Merit he had a dramatic decline, game went ranking disappeared, maybe at the back of his mind he wants to conquer that, could be a pychological block that he peaks then declines and as a result is putting to much stress on himself to hit everything 100%. Hope not thing I admire about Westy is is stoicism, and attitude...Clarky have a word with him!!!!
 
Lets have him all stone faced and not bothered about bad shots showing no emotion. Then we can moan about the lack of characters in the game. :rolleyes:
 
Agree. When he went through his long slump he never showed his frustrations this badly. Perhaps Tom Watson will have to have a word with him !
 
I take it he's the latest fall guy now Woods is out of the picture. So he's showing a bit more emotion that usual.Lets be honest it wouldn't be hard given his normal unflappable demeanour. I think he is having equipment issues or perhaps he's made a swing change over the winter that hasn't bedded in properly. Who cares. I think it'll be sooner rather than later before its normal service and he's right up there. Level par is hardly playing himself out of contention
 
Chill out, guys. He's got new clubs through the bag, apart from putter, and I guess he's just getting used to them. He'll be back, just you see.

Another one to not get me started on!!

I think he's just hit a bit of a dip in form and as he's so used to playing really well he's getting frustrated with himself. Isn't that something we all do? Sh**k a wedge when we know we should put it by the pin(ish)?

He did mention that on local radio last week..
And he also mentioned his early season form is never good, maybe he has a bit of extra pressure this year :D
 
I would be pretty annoyed too if I had to play....say no more.

He has made a few uncharacteristic errors in Dubai, and I guess he would find that annoying. I thought his short game wasn't that bad for once, but his long play was woeful. Especially when he dunked it in the water.
 
I dont think this thread had anything to do with "doom merchants" it was an observation that he appears to be under presure. I have never seen Westwood throw clubs or swear or look so p155ed off.

I am a Westwood fan and glad that hes playing well today. Great how threads get twisted to suit personal agendas!
 
Since the change in regulations, he's had to get a new set of irons.
His driver had a crack in the face so a new driver and he had 6 weeks off for Christmas.
Would you be at your best after all that?

He's got a lot to get used to, but he will be back winning really soon
