its probably because rory's not taking out pga membership next year. never in a milliion years are they going to give someone rookie of the year and then immediately lose them to promoting another tour

I think the PGA want Fowler to be thier Mc Illroy. I also liked Rorys way of shaking it off by sayinh basically, "i dont see myself as a rookie".
The Yanks are the most self obsessed and "unsporting" nation in the world. They are very sore losers and European domination of the Majors, the Ryder cup and world rankings, "Rookie of the year" was always going to be 1 to many for the "worlds best tour" huh huh.
I hope our boys give them another dusting next year to really shut them up.
Rory is bigger than that, but fair play to Lee Westwood so being so upfront.
Personally I think Westwood is for sure the most complete golfer in a long time. Decent guy, sticks by his mates, and plays fairly and with commitment. Unlike many of the Yanks

I remember Stricker getting comeback player of the year two years running of which there were comments about that being a little wierd so how they determine who falls into what category is anyone's guess.
I can only assume it is becuase this is Ricky's first season on tour and that he's going to be playing the tour next year where as 2009 was really Rory's rookie year and he's said no to them for next year.
Fair play to Westwood for speaking his mind though. If twitter is going to be good for anything it will be for getting what players really think of the things going on about them - as long as they are not being censored by their PR guys!
