West Malling

I quite enjoyed it, nothing outstanding about it but nothing wrong with it either as far as I was concerned. If I lived that way & was looking for somewhere to join I wouldn't dismiss it because of the course.

It's an okay course, but some silly holes, not least the 14th, which is ridiculous. Sure you'll enjoy it overall though.

3rd hole is short, but there's nothing at the back, so don't go long. Aim for front part of the green. 5th, watch the approach, as there's a slope down to the water. 7th plays a bit shorter than the yardage, 11th is worth going for off the tee, if you're driving the ball well.

Next time come a bit further and head to Westerham!

Bratty is absolutely right on all counts

As Bratty has said its not a bad course, definitely leave the driver in the bag on the 14th the tee shot is all downhill and approach is so blind up hill that sherpas would have to mount it to show you the way, and remember if you see the flag to your right as you look up your looking at the wrong green thats the 17th green! In truth the 14th is about 10yards furter left.

Other than that its decent enough, no need for a driver on the opening 2 holes and quite wide landing areas off tee on those holes though left side of the fairway opens up the greens. 4th is the first real need for a driver, 5th is all about hitting a sensible approach and the 6th you want to be on right hand side of fairway. 8th hole aim right off tee and ball will roll right down to left side and help set up a lay up.

Back nine as said above open your shoulders and take a pop at the 11th its wide open on landing area so even off target at driver length isn't bad. 12th is a decent par 5 you either try carry the ditch or play safe and lay up, the third option if its clear is take the driver and aim up the adjacent 13th fairway if you hit it well enough up that line it leaves a shorter direct shot at the 12th green in 2 hits!

Think i've covered most things! oh and have a good day and avoid coming up short in the front bunker on the 17th! Thats one deep bunker

Cheers chaps will take those thoughts to the course and will try to enjoy the day weather permitting. Will let you know how I get on.
