We have drawn West Drayton in the Hillman Trophy (BBO event) and I'm selected . Has anyone played it. Condition, any warm up facitilies, lay out advice appreciated

USed to live in Hounslow, never heard of West Drayton GC only one in the area I can think of is Stockley Park

Drayton Park near Abingdon? Played a few times, pretty flat parkland course from memory. Lots of electric pylons. Pretty sure it has a driving range etc.

According to the pro’s tips, a long drive up the middle of the fairway is the way to play the first hole

Not played it for about ten years plus when I was at Benson and it was just a standard new parkland course
Can't be as bad as Theale last year. Took over from Lydd as my worse course ever

Better than Theale in my opinion, but not by much...
As a bar Theale was below ground level. Made Lydd look like a top 100 course

Well, it'd be for the aaaargh experience only! I suspect a decent level of traffic noise from the M4 too.
A couple of holes run down the side from memory although that isn't too good and have tried to erase everything about it from the brain

I sort of have to play Theale once a year, it's one of our senior inter club matches. I think it's been improved over the years, certainly drainage work has been done.
My low bar course makes Theale look like a decent track, Thames Ditton and Esher. Now that was bad, for so many reasons.

I would suggest Thames Ditton was better than Theale. Bunkers were little scrapes in the ground with sand chucked in. Greens were ropey and running about 3 on the stimp and the tee boxes were as long as their fairways. Total crap

Yes, has a good trackman range.
Decent stocked shop and GC quad etc.
They have 2 teams in the 7s league, one in div 1 and one in div 2 - so expect a competitive game at their gaff.
Not the longest and several thinking/placement holes so may suit homies eye.
