I thoroughly enjoyed watching the BMW at Wentworth this year, on BBC, especially since it came down to the very last putt for Casey to win and go #3 in the World Rankings.

The standard of play was unbelievable, and at times, left Peter Alliss speechless. It's astonishing that these players can hit a 4 iron 287 yards and still hit the green with it, and what about the 231 yard par 3? Mind bogling.

Agreed it was a great tournament. I especially enjoyed yesterday as I was there watching from 10.00 in the morning until Casey holed his final putt- even getting my mug on TV ;).

I would say however that skysports coverage was better than BBC's.

The length the modern pro generates is exceptional and it is funny to see an older generation oberserver like Peter Alliss struggle to come to terms with it. That said I thought the coverage was OK (not a huge fan of BBC coverage and their commentary team seems lightweight compared to Sky) but the outcome was exciting

Shot of the week was Casey's 9 iron from the sand early in the 4th round. Dropped it 3 feet from the hole. they reckon only a handful of players could have done it.

231 yard par 3. Tiddler compared to our 17th. Its a whole 3 yards longer. :D

Pin high in the fringe today for a par, Bloomin hard work though.

What annoys me about the BBC, Is that they pay vast sums to broadcast the event on Saturday and Sunday, and then on the evening news, not a single mention of anything about the tournament and the eventual winner Paul Casey!

Was it because the outcome was not what they were hoping?

Golfmmad.

Agreed. His 9I into the hole was great, but it was the 161 yard bunker shot which really showed his ability. Not to mention his getting down in two from the 18th bunker to secure the win...what a trooper.

Ross Fisher though, oh my god, what a round!!

I'll probably still go next year to the Pro/Am event, but I think next time I might also try and get tickets for the last day.

As for the BBC coverage, I do wish they'd show more of the players, no matter how well they're doing, rather than focussing only on the top few placed players. When Ben Curtis gained SIX SHOTS in the final three holes to put him from something like 21st to 5th, they should have been showing those shots so the viewers can enjoy the excitement, rather than just telling us about it and showing his chip in on the last.

I think most modern coverage tends to only focus on certain players especially during the 3rd and 4th rounds all to do with what the sponsors wanna see. Totally agree about Casey and Fisher those guys are getting better and better, I think their improved mental strengh is what amazes me the most though, Casey was a bit of a bottler when he first came on tour.

I love watching golf on BBC its how it should be in my mind I love the way Peter Allis comentates, going on about this old guy whos 85yrs old and still playing at such and such a course and then cutting to a family of ducks trouping across the 15th fairway I live for it. I do think I will switch to Sky when he hangs up his mic though.

Peter Allis is very good to listen to, but Sky blow BBC out of the water (although, they do have the money to do so)

Was it Saturday that BBC lost coverege?

I've got Sky and I watch the golf on it but with the volume off. Cant stand the 'banter' between Murray and 'the Colonel'
Its lovely to hear Peter Alliss speaking English, although, I did hear him say at one point, 'it's a big ask'

I was working on Saturday so not watching but i believe it did go on Saturday.

I suppose given the quality of the golf and the weather it would have been good to watch no matter who was waffleing over the top of it
