Not unusual for most, but with a wee one to look after every night I never get to the range at night.

Well I was shocked how busy it was, had to queue for balls then queue to get a bay, plus it was raining and even in the bays you got wet but it was still mobbed. All pretty normal.

However, what made me post was the amount of male 'couples' that were there, all giving each other lessons and encouragement and some horrendous advice. One guy was spouting head still, swing easy, stop smashing it, your grips wrong, just stroke it blah blah blah, his mate said show me and the guy proceeded to fat a driver and the ball smashed into the metal hoarding, a real tumbleweed moment then they burst out laughing...............

Great to see some fun and not the usual angry individuals.

I made my monthly foray to the range yesterday afternoon.

It's covered.

The wind was blowing into my face.

So was the rain

The words Teapot and Chocolate spring to mind but not necessarily in that order

And I wonder why I hate the Range.......

Half term here so the range is busy during the day and you take your life in your hands as balls bounce of the bay walls repeatedly!

Yesterday I had to move as 2 guys talked loudly about anything but golf and both opinionated-listen-to-me-asses. I hit 2 baskets and left and think they still hadn't hit a ball.

Enjoy going to our local range (Snainton) but very busy this week with half-term including youngsters having group lessons, but great to see. There was even a curly haired 3'6" high lad who had a great swing, thought it might be a miniature Rory.

I rarely visit the range in summer, but I'm making an effort this year to improve my long game.

I go in my lunch hour from work (As it's only a 5 minute drive) and find it pretty quiet.

I stopped going to a range closer to home as it used to get swamped with teenagers who just wanted to prick about.

Went to the range as it was lashing down all day yesterday and even a practiceaholic like me won't stand in the pouring practice field hitting balls. Covered and lucky that the wind wasn't blowing into so stayed relatively dry. Lots of the usual thudding from all fown the line as ball met side wall. No kids which was a blessing as Blue Mountain can get a few teenage "idiots" at times. Usually go to Maidenhead because its tucked away and so only attracts golfers who want to practice but time was short.

Actually felt like I made a degree of progress with the stuff I was working on up to the hybrid and woods where it fel apart a little. Still lots to do but it won't be today in the midst of the gales
