Running in and out of burning buildings, while commendable, doesn't strike me as a particularly safe bet in the career stakes!!

But well done Jan.

Jan took another step nearer to her goal of being a fireperson. Another test past.
Well done

You mean firefighter not arsonist I assume???

Well done if it's the former

Surely running out of a burning building is a safe and sensible option?

Depends if you are holding scissors or not.

Love it :D

Thank you all for your responses. :)

The fitness test and equipment carry to do, then training starts in April.

I do have a plan for this career move. In the small village that I live, we have the one fire engine and only 9 retained ff, consequently it is not manned at all times. So nothing to be done but put my name down.

Hadn't given the running in and out of burning buildings too much thought, but I will heed your advice Murph.
Not much of being a retained ff in rural Lincolnshire is fire related, more likely to be called to RTA and flood rescue, ( or so I've been told ;) )

I did think it would give my CV a boost, gardener/shop ass/ average golfer
