I was lucky enough to win a Golf Monthy online comp to play with Mark James in the European Seniors Benahavis Master pro am at La Quinta at the end of May. Roger was there having just won the Seniors PGA and we met him briefly. What a great guy! No airs or graces. In fact the whole European Senior Tour is like that, but still very good golfers of course. Certainly worth going to watch an event. I will go to Woburn event at end of August. Well done Roger!

Roger Chapman, and several other well known professional golfers , will be involved in a George Will memorial day at Sundridge Park in August. George, who was the Pro at Sundridge for 22 years and appeared in the Ryder Cup team on 3 occasions, was Roger's coach, mentor and close friend.

In recognition of the contribution he made to the game for over fifty years, Sundridge Park is to stage a Charity Memorial Pro-Am for George Will on Monday, 6[SUP]th[/SUP] August with funds being shared between Cancer Research and The Amyloidosis Research Trust. From his professional debut in 1957, George featured regularly among the top performers on the European Tour, with a level of consistency that earned him three Ryder Cup appearances – 1963, 65 & 67 and three World Cup outings for Scotland. It was his impressive results against the Legendary Arnold Palmer and Billy Casper that many remember him for although he was well recognised on the international stage.George was appointed professional at Sundridge Park in 1964 and stayed with the club until 1986 when he took up the prestigious post of Belgium National Coach. On his subsequent return to England, George continued his coaching and remained highly active with lessons up until a few months prior to his death in 2010.Leading the Pro-Am professional line-up is his very dear friend and former pupil, Roger Chapman, who will be heading a contingent of players from the Seniors Tour, which includes Peter Mitchell, Bill Longmuir, Glenn Ralph, Bob Cameron and Mark Belsham."
