Another lets knock Scottish football thread, I'll give you a fact right now, 1st and second in the Premiership are the same teams as last year, can we say that about the SPL?

Celtic won the league with 4 games to go and are 15 points clear at the top.

Man U won the league with 4 games to go and are 16 points clear at the top.

Remind me which league again was the one horse race?

I'm no fan of The EPL, I think it's a soul-less vacuum where clubs will accept footballers with the most dubious of backgrounds or personalities, where £1.8 Billion is spent on wages but with debts that far exceed that number.The ownership of clubs is hideous and the actual fan who wants to watch his team ( or something that resembles the team he/she started to watch pre-SkyTV or pre-Nick Hornby) is priced so far out it's a disgrace.It's eating itself and no-one seems to care.

BUT.Since say, 1990 Liverpool,Leeds,Man Utd,Man City,Arsenal,Blackburn and Chelsea have all won the league.

The last team outwith the OF to win the league was Ferguson's Aberdeen team in 1984(?)

Just remember, last time Hibs won they had an Irish manager ;-) Fenlon will do it this year.

I gave up looking for signs after last years debacle, however there was a major power cut in North Edina last week, it affected Leith,Trinity Granton etc all the way up to the Balmoral hotel, who's famous clock stopped...the last time that clock stopped was 1902

I've not missed a Scottish Cup or League cup tie for over 20 years, for the love of Sauzee, let this be the year I can finally stop watching these imposters attempt to play football.

It's even more interesting that only 4 teams have won it in my lifetime (40 years) and only 7 since the 2nd World War with only 11 teams winning it in total.

We are a small country after all.

Same as all leagues , few challanging for the title , second tier for europe & the rest trying to stay up .. one or two teams will have a good or bad year to change thinga a little but mostly its same same ..

Not Celtics fault Rangers werent in the league , they more often than not beat what turned up to play against them . so fair play for that ..

Jings I wish some of you guys would open your eyes a bit or at least talk in facts.
Of course Celtic were favourites to win in August but reality showed them not starting too well with Hibs and Motherwell leading the league for a while.
Celtic have lost 6 games and drawn 6 games.
So the team that played Barca and played well in Europe lost SIX games to SPL teams.
How many games have Man U lost to EPL teams.

I think Celtic had a bigger points lead last season when Rangers were playing.
The point of my thread was that Celtic did not steamroller the SPL as many football 'fans' expected.

No they did not,not in real terms and we have steamrollered it and in 2nd gear.

No you're right, he's utter rubbish, that's why he's the leading scorer in the SPL; achieved in a team worth a fraction of that of Celtic.
