wedge control
putting
chipping
bunker play
controlling ball flight. ie lower ball flight

I know it will pay off all the practice but i will keep you guys updated of my progress

I have serious goals to meet this season and i will pull all the stops out to get there.

Concentrate on one at a time, if you try to do too much at once you might as well be pissing into the wind. Controlling ball flight for example, it takes years to become any way good at it.
I would advise you to crack on with the wedge control and chipping at the practice grounds and then practice your putting for 25 minutes before each round that way it gets more ingrained as you are going out straight afterwards to put the practice to use. Good luck with it, I will mostly be practicing my 7-pw mostly this year as I need my second shots closer to the flag.

120yd approach play and short game practice pay off the most. Out of 100 balls on the practice ground, 15 are for the driver, 20 for long-mid irons and 65 for chipping, pitching and bunkers. All the putting practice is at the club (i.e. on the same grass as the greens).

When I'm working away I sometimes use a range but will only hit 50 balls and with all the clubs in the bag at different targets.

as my pro changed 3 things in my setup.

when would you say it was paying off?

changed left hand grip
changed shoulder alignment
changed hands position at address

I was either pushing / pulling shots and the odd slice aswell with my irons.

I've set myself a few targets for this season too.

First and foremost, try and get my handicap down.
Second, participate in a few club competitions.
Lastly, practise.

It's one thing playing holes after work etc but if you don't hone particular aspects of the game I cannot see how you will improve. I think it's fair comment anyway!
