hi guys, i am looking to organize a golfing break somewhere in england, preferably south/south east for august/september time.

nice course hotel with facilities a must, with so much choice out there it's pretty hard to choose!

if anyone has any recommendations from previous experience i'd love to hear them.

PS: i also didnt receive my poker chip marker ;(

My recommendations would revolve around the courses and value for mobey but are not in south east -

I have had great weekends in Woodall spa (Lincolnshire) but hotels are in village not on course and in Saunton Sands (Devon) same again with hotel just down the road. In both cases the courses are amazing.

I have also had a great time at Forest Pines (27 holes) near Scunthirpe and got a good deal at Foxhills in Surrey but only liked one if the two courses. Had a good time at mannings Heath in Sussex (no hotel)

I would say you restrict yourself a bit if you want a top class hotel. I'm a fan of the Belfry because I like to play where the pros have played but I know that other forum members despise the place (which is harsh) and both the Brabazon and PGA national test your game. Finally Forest of Arden is a good course / hotel combo but both of these options are in the midlands.

Hope this helps - I would say sod the hotel where's the best golf !

Golfbreaks recommendations ain't bad.

East Sussex National
Foxhills
Selsdon Park
Coulsdon Manor

Personally, I'd head to Southport or Cornwall, but that could be influenced by the fact that I live in the South East!
