Evening all,

A quick one to pick peoples brains.
Do you change your wedges for winter conditions.....

I have a Gap wedge 49 deg and a SW 56 deg that are part of my Cobra S2 set... They have thicker soles than my TW9 Wilsons 52,56....
Am i right in thinking that a wedge with a high bounce would be better on soft ground than one with a low bounce.....

Im not sure what the difference is in bounce angles between both manufacturers but the Wilsons have more of a blade look about them if that helps!

The only thing I do is drop the 60 degree LW until the summer as it costs too many shots and I have to drop a longer club to accomodate it which I tend to need more being a short hitter on wet and windy courses.

As I understand it wider soles and/or higher bounce are better for soft sand and soft ground and thinner soles and low bounce are better for harder conditions. I am quite happy to be corrected on that though.

I find when it's really sticky underfoot, if you hit your wedge fat it doesn't matter what sole you're using the ball will go nowhere. :(
