OK guys so low and behold her in doors is gonna buy me a new wedge for christmas and my first logical thought is i have a vokey 52, so a vokey 56 would mate the pair up.

But after reading quite a few post on here its seems the world isnt vokey only when it comes to wedges.

Is there any other good specialist wedges i should look at.

I just bought a 56 degree Cleveland CG10 to replace the various Vokeys that went over my knee last year. Haven't tried it out yet but it looks the part. Had a 52 one degree which I sold a while back and wish I hadn't.

Ive got the Mizzy MP T10's in Satin finish and they are first class. The black finish are apparently a bit softer, therefore not as durable. You can pick up the T10's fairly cheap now that the new range is out

Go and look at loads, pick them up, waggle them and try and get a feel for them. I find that wedges need to "fit my eye" and I'm sure you'll know yourself when you pick up the right wedge(s) for yourself.

All make nice wedges, as you say Vokey is not the be all and end all of the wedge market.

The set of clubs i bought (2nd hand) spring this year had a cheap Dunlop wedge in it and knowing no better at the time i just went out playing with it.I was having mixed results until i tried a few different friends ones,i tried titleist, nike and cleveland.
In the end i opted for a Cleveland 52 degree which i picked up off fleabay for £20 and its one of my favourite clubs in the bag.

What he said (surprisingly) ;)

MD are fantastic spinny wedges that cost half the money of the usual suspects. I had a look at the newish TM wedges with the replaceable faces...why? yea for 20-30 quid you can get a new milled face fitted but the rest of the club will be sand damaged etc.

i wouldnt go for that spec tm wedge, i have the TP-Z wedge in a 60 and its fantastic when you play the shot you want, but the loft is a killer, its just too flat.

Found a few places with these on a deal too, could replace my old 52 at the same time ;)

Bounce is almost as important as loft when it comes to choosing wedges. Are you a slider or a digger? Try them on different lies if you can.
