Was hoping people would be able to offer me some wedge advise. As someone who has only just started to score under 100 (done it 3 times now) with an improving short game. Just wondering what wedge set up I should be at.

Currently I have my Original Cobra Pitching wedge that came with the set, a 60 degree cobra and then my sand wedge.

I find that less and less I am using the 60 as I struggle with accuracy and confidence with it. However when in rough around the green and sometimes out of bunkers its the club I also turn to over the other two.

I wouldn't bother with a 60 degree wedge at all if I'm being honest, however that's just my personal preference. I would suggest that you get yourself a gap wedge (if you actually even need a specialist wedge at your stage in the game)as that will probably be all round more beneficial.

Sometimes too much choice can be worse than having a limited choice. I would work away with your original PW & SW and get to know them, when to use then and the distances. I would also recommend that you use a 7 or an 8 iron around the geens a lot and play bump and runs as this will be really beneficial, more accurate and more consistant than flying the ball.

Thats only my opinion, but I seriously think it will help. If you do insist on another wedge, as I said a gap wedged between 48-52 depending on your current wedge set up would be my choice.

Hope that helps?

I'd tend to agree with the craw. Until your at a stage where you can hit 3 wedges with some level of consistency, drop the 60deg and hit more bump and runs with your 7/8 iron. No point having 3 wedges if you can't control the distance.

cheers guys. I rely on bump and runs a lot and even holed one yesterday from about 35 yards which I was delighted with :)

will drop the 60 degree for a few rounds and see how I get on then. May give a gap a go. I tend not to use the sandwedge for anything other than sand though as I find it off putting for some reason. Not sure why!

Drop the 60. At this stage it'll cost more shots than it saves. Depending on the loft of your PW I'd get something like a 52 and 58 (assuming the PW to be around 46 degrees). Otherwise you could spread it out if the loft is higher and maybe go 54 and 58.

The point I'm making (badly) is to try and have an even gap between your wedges. Find something to suit the type of bunkers you have and a gap wedge to fill the hole between the PW and SW.
