Wedge Divot angle

Took my new wedge for 9 holes this morning and I loved it.

It's a CG14 54* 12 bounce.

But I couldn't help notice the angle of the divot after the shot.

I lined up and aimed everything straight at the flag. Lets say 12pm to make it easier. Did my Wedge swing 3/4 never a full swing.

The ball flew in the air in a fairly straight line and I was happy with the results.

But when I went to replace the divot. The divot angle was at 11pm.

Does this mean I have opened the club face mid swing?

No that is the line of your swing path. Out to in. Thats assuming your right handed.

I thought that indicated that it was square at impact then proceeds to move left on the arc after that.

no; it means you hit the ball before the ground

Wahoo is this why the ball stopped stupidly quick

and yes I am right handed.

Never used a proper wedge before and I really enjoyed it. Felt sorry for the greens though the pitch marks were a lot deeper and harder to repaid than normal lol.
