How far do you hit yours consistently???

Feel as if i have lost a bit off my short irons this year 9 iron and up.

Averaging around 125- 130 with my 9 iron. 110 with wedge and around 80 with my 54 wedge,

Longer irons are fine though.just been working with it though maybe sit the ball far too back in my stance.im usually behind centre with a wedge.

think a visit to the range is in order

Still working out my summer yardages but below is where I think I am at the moment give or take a yard or so in warm still conditions.

LW = 81
SW = 98
GW = 111
PW = 123
9i = 131

In the winter where it's easier to tell thanks to soft greens an pitch marks it is...

LW = 75
SW = 86
GW = 99
PW = 109
9i = 120

You need to lay off the weetabix.

Forgive me if I'm way out on this, but what loft is your PW?
I had mine "tweaked" up to get an even spread, if your PW is 47 degrees or something, that's a weird selection of yardages.

Ya dave its 47 degrees..... Its standard and if truth be known i find it very hard to hit anything other that full shots with them....Im more comfortable from those ranges....Anything inside and im in trouble......

Some people i play with find it odd after iv hit and they've asked me what club it was.Im not trying to win any distance competitions far from it..Im trying to dial things down a little for the past 3 months and use my 6 Iron from 150 to try and get a nice smooth tempo.Iv got a nice slow backswing but a fairly agressive transition into the downswing and it Bites back at times.Its slowly coming round but if i dont at times go after the ball everything falls out of sync...Thats when i get the FATS.....

..I gauge everything off my 150mtr club which is a 7 Iron..I just go 10mtr's above or below depending on the club i hit..

I am working on beefing or playing 80% shots to fill the gaps on yardages.

58 degree about 75-80.
Had a penalty drop behind some trees last time out. Went back to 78 yards from the middle of the green (where the pin was) and hit a full lob wedge to a few feet.


Missed the putt but the approach was good....

These are the clubs I would hit for those distances on a normal calm day. Adjust as necessary...

My GW is roughly 100 max!
MY SW is about 85.

I tend mot to hit any wedges with a full swing, gets all funny if i do.

Problem is they all carry 10 yards more and screw back NOT!

above are full lofted shots, i can punch/skid them in a bit too and tend to get more yards that way. all dependant on lie and whats in front of me really
