I currently have a 53 and 56 degree wedge but the 56 needs replacing.

Question is what degree should I go for next. Stick with a 56 or up to 57/58? Just to add I don't have anything higher and the next lowest is my P wedge.

What is the loft on your PW?

As above it depends on the lofts of you irons. If it MX-100s where the PW is 45* for example then a more even gap spread would be a 50* then 55/56*

If the PW is 48* then 53* and 58* would give a nice spread.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in with another question but does anyone know what difference 1 degree makes in yardage?

Depending how well you strike the ball I have heard 3 yards/degree mentioned on another forum.

Probably none that you would notice.
You will get a bigger spread of distances with off-centre contacts.

4deg difference is about ten yards 'ish

Depends on how many wedges you carry. I have a PW, Approach wedge, 56 deg and a 60 deg LW.

The 56 deg is right on 100 yds to pin. I would advise trying to get a club that is right on 100 yds, as whenever you see 100 yd markers close you always have a good gauge as to club needed. Ok,with distance finders now, it can be different to the exact flag, but I like the fact that 100 yds out normally always means the same club, unless windy.
