Well, after posting about my concerns about my Matchplay Final opponent using a +1 Caddie, I got a call today at 2.20pm, asking on the off chance if I was available later to play our Final etc., nice day, he had the afternoon free, etc etc....and without Caddie !!
I nearly declined so as not to be rushed, but thought, hey, its beautiful outside, get out there......

Birdied the 1st to go one up, lost the 2nd & 3rd (to an Eagle) to go one down, but finished the front 9 One Up.

3 Up after 11, 4 up after 14, lost 15, but won 3&2 on 16. yehhhhhhhh

Played really well, and was only +6 Gross after 16, with my Partner (off 4) only +3 after 16.

Name on the board again in the Clubhouse, after 16yrs !!!

Happy ? Me ?? Oh yeesssshhhhhhhhh

Thx fella's, it was a great game, and he was a nice lad, Built like I was at 21, and hit it a bloody mile !!
Best part about it was we had some great banter, and were both reasonably generous with our gimme's, and most importantly, neither of us played like a tw@t.
