I have a set of Sunice Gore-tex waterproofs which I got reduced from £300 to £180 because everyone wanted Galvin at that price.

I won a watch and would buy another set. I would also buy Galvin Green if I had the money, if its Gore-tex I will consider it.

For that money proquip are a great buy

I have a silk touch jacket which is very good,i also have a galvin green austin and some trousers not so sure about the name,alf i think

Word of warning the white Galvin jackets look great until they get sprayed with mud which aint a good look,it only comes out on decent tracks

Good advice about the white jackets though. Look damn smart whilst walking from the BMW or Merc to the clubhouse. But on a muddy UK course? I think not.

Have a set of Footjoy waterproofs, have had them 5 or 6 years and they are still very good. Think they cost around £150ish. Tend to wear the trousers more than the jacket.

Can you still get these i have not seen any in the shops would love to replace my Footjoys with more Footjoys.

Cant beat the Galvin Greens for quality , the bottoms are great for keeping the legs warm on a chilly day ,like most days up here.

Not sure if they are still doing it but www.clubhousegolf.co.uk were doing Proquip silktouch suits for £119 for a full set (in different colours and sizes).

I have to say I have two Proquip suits and they've never let me down. If I could afford them I'd try a set of Galvin Green as they really do look the best in terms of waterproofing etc on the market (I'm available for a GM test)

I have a set of PQ Silk Touch - nice until it rains then you get wet - trousers are okay but the jacket sucks...

Just go for Galvin...in the long run they are actually cheaper as they WILL keep you dry.....

I have to say I've been pretty fortunate with my PQ suits and have been out in some pretty rough weather with not real problems with either the jacket or the trousers. That said I agree with sammmebee in that GG are the best in terms of quality out there (if only they won't so expensive).

As an aside I did a product review on the forum page a month or so back from RGS who has a Cross set which he recommended and doing my research, they look pretty good. They have somewhat slipped under most gear radars but I think are defintiely worth a look too

Agree with Homer, my last proquip suit, an Ultralite, was years old, probably 10+ I would say, and it suffered Scottish winters, and Isle of Man all year round weather and was still going strong, I only changed because I wanted short sleeves, and was more than happy to go for Proquip again.
